Input handling, dependency hygiene and data exposure treated as design constraints from line one, not afterthoughts.
Built to be reviewed
Every change earned its place through rigorous review in a vetted environment. 'I'll fix it tomorrow' isn't a strategy here.
How I worked
Inside a high-security environment
Development happens in a controlled, vetted setting: restricted access, careful change management, and code that has to justify itself before it ships. I worked in cross-functional teams alongside other engineers, testers and product people, in the kind of review culture where you explain not just what you changed but why it's safe to change it. Agile in practice, but with a higher bar for what 'done' means.
What I worked with
Angular and Node.js, chosen to last
A modern Angular front end with TypeScript end to end, backed by Node.js services and integrations with internal enterprise systems. Nothing exotic, everything deliberate. In an environment that values predictability over novelty, boring-but-solid is a feature, not a compromise. I can't show the screens, but the engineering underneath is the same discipline I bring everywhere.
What I took from it
A higher baseline
More than any framework, Defence reset my definition of done. Assume it has to work, assume someone is depending on it, and earn every shortcut you choose not to take. It's the standard I now hold my own products to.
